Rio Grande cherry is a Brazilian Myrtaceae fruit with dark red to purple berries, glossy foliage, and a compact habit. The fruit is usually more substantial and less intensely resinous than many small Eugenia species.

Rio Grande cherry is a Brazilian Atlantic-forest species. Its dark berries develop on a small evergreen tree in warm, humid conditions; protect young plants from drying and maintain an acidic, organic root zone.
