Myrtaceae, the myrtle family, is a family of flowering plants in the order Myrtales. Its members are mostly aromatic trees and shrubs with oil glands in the leaves, opposite leaves, and flowers commonly bearing numerous stamens. The family is especially diverse in Australia and the Neotropics.
