== Cultivars and selections == Two ornamental selections appear in the trade. 'Godseffiana' is bushy, with leaves yellow-green and variegated scarlet or copper above and purplish-rosy below; 'Rubescens' has leaves variegated red.[[#cite_note-5|[5]]] Both are foliage selections rather than fruit cultivars: the names ''Pereskia godseffiana'' and ''Pereskia rubescens'' are treated today as heterotypic synonyms of ''P. aculeata'', so the variegated plants sold under those names are forms of the one species.[[#cite_note-1|[1]]] Growers in the forum record likewise describe variegated plants kept for their foliage, and one such plant was reported not to have fruited while a plain green clone bore fruit; no fruit-oriented named cultivar is documented in the examined records.[[#cite_note-7|[7]]][[#cite_note-12|[12]]]
