== Fruit and uses ==

Kew records the fruit as edible.<sup>[[#cite_note-1|[1]]]</sup> The practical species account describes raw fruit as highly variable: some forms are mildly acidic and apple-like or sweet, while others are astringent. It reports fruit up to about 20 cm long and 200 g, values that should be read as an upper reported description rather than a standard size or flavor for every tree.<sup>[[#cite_note-2|[2]]]</sup>
