== Propagation == Seed and division are listed propagation methods for ''Musa velutina''. Division is the more direct way to retain the characteristics of an existing clump, while seed is useful when planting material is available and genetic variation is acceptable. [[#cite_note-2|[2]]] Seed emergence can be slow. In an original comparison of in-vivo and in-vitro systems, seed-tray sowing in a peat-based mixture reached 78% germination only after 9 months. Excised embryos reached 82% germination after 2 weeks on half-strength Murashige–Skoog medium with 0.1 µM gibberellic acid and darkness. Those embryo-culture conditions are laboratory results, not a complete household seed-starting schedule; the publisher abstract does not provide the full sample sizes, temperatures, replication, or statistical detail. [[#cite_note-3|[3]]]
