== Propagation == Seed germination and seed hydration have been studied experimentally in ''Capparis spinosa''. Water uptake begins through the hilar region and follows the first two phases of a triphasic hydration model in the tested seed lots. [[#cite_note-4|[4]]] These findings describe seed behavior under the study conditions, not a guaranteed treatment for every provenance or storage history. A propagation review summarizes reports in which 45β50 plantlets emerged 25β30 days after sowing from batches of 250β330 pre-germinated seeds, while direct sowing produced lower emergence. It also summarizes an in-vitro result of 56.7% rooted shoots under specified culture-media conditions. [[#cite_note-5|[5]]] The figures are study-specific; they should not be treated as universal germination or rooting rates, and the in-vitro result is not a home propagation protocol. The primary seed study also examined methanolic and aqueous seed extracts in a Chinese-cabbage bioassay. That work concerns extract effects and seed-germination assays, not a field recipe for raising caper plants. [[#cite_note-3|[3]]]
