Citrus growth is most active in warm weather and slows in cool conditions. Commercial citrus references give an optimal growing range around 25–30 °C and report that growth generally ceases below about 13 °C; these figures are broad citrus guidance rather than a guarantee for every mandarin selection. In subtropical regions, mandarin harvest commonly falls from autumn into winter, but maturity varies widely among named types.
