The semi-deciduous habit gives the tree a seasonal leaf-loss rhythm. In a year-long population study, flower and fruit production was highest in late spring and early summer, although fruit and seed measurements varied widely among individuals. During the hot or dry part of the growing season, keep establishing plants from cycling repeatedly between drought and recovery.
