== Description == In gardens the plant is described as about 2β6 m tall, while natural plants may exceed 12 m. Other descriptions give a broader 2β10 m shrub or tree range, so final size depends on growing conditions and the context of the account. The species occurs in evergreen forest, dune forest and forest margins; the detailed South African account places it at about 1,100β1,800 m in the Chirinda Forest region and records it elsewhere in Malawi, Mozambique and South Africa. [[#cite_note-3|[3]]][[#cite_note-4|[4]]] The leaves are elliptical to ovate. Small scented flowers are produced in sparse heads in early summer. Fruits hang pendulously, changing from green to yellow-brown as they ripen. The available descriptions place the fruit at roughly 18β25 mm across, with the difference retained as a source-specific range rather than a fixed measurement. [[#cite_note-3|[3]]][[#cite_note-4|[4]]]
