''Kadsura heteroclita'' is a vigorous evergreen climber capable of reaching 10 m or more when it has support. Its growth is twining rather than self-supporting, so a trellis, fence, tree, or other strong framework is appropriate for a cultivated plant.<sup>[[#cite_note-3|[3]]]</sup>

The fruit is a red, subglobose aggregate made up of approximately 33–41 apocarps. Individual apocarps are described as about 10–22 mm long and 8–10 mm wide, with one or two seeds.<sup>[[#cite_note-3|[3]]]</sup> These dimensions describe the recorded fruit form rather than a guaranteed size for every plant or growing condition.
