Editing Garcinia cowa (section)

== Description ==

''Garcinia cowa'' is reported as an evergreen tree about 8–15 m tall. It occurs in humid mixed forests on hills and in valleys across tropical Asia, most often at about 400–900 m, with a broader reported range of 100–1,300 m.[[#cite_note-2|[2]]] Those habitat observations point to a warm, humid forest plant rather than a dry-site fruit tree, but they do not establish a fixed soil formula or a universal cultivation limit.

The species is reported to be dioecious, with male and female flowers on separate plants. Yellow flowers and the need to account for both sexes are described in the species accounts.[[#cite_note-2|[2]]][[#cite_note-3|[3]]] The practical consequence for fruit production is important: a grower should not assume that a single seedling will provide both pollen and fruiting flowers.
