== Description == Abam is usually evergreen, with a spreading crown and a buttressed bole. It occurs in dense semi-deciduous forest and in sandy-loamy gallery-forest valleys. It can reach about 40 m in forest, a maximum that should not be treated as a prediction for a cultivated specimen.[[#cite_note-3|[3]]] The fruit is harvested from the wild and sold in local markets. The tree is rarely planted, but it is commonly retained when forest is cleared for agriculture, giving it a semi-cultivated role in its native range.[[#cite_note-3|[3]]]
